I guess this is a kind of changing of the guard.
I don't feel too bad.
But, of course, I blame Reagan for all of this.
And Baker will never be able to penance enough, even for Dante.
What level?

I'm no Danteist--although I now found myself living with one--but I'd hazard a guess that most neocons would find themselves in the Eighth Circle, Bolgia 1, 3, 5, 6, 8, or 9.
This may sound a little vindictive, and I guess we could argue about the degree to which their deceit was intentional, but I don't make the rules.

I'd narrow it down to Bolgia 6 or 8, going from the options you provide.
But what then, of the Jeanne Kirkpatricks, the David Frums, the Richard Perles (the latter here, I don't know yet how to turn this into a hyperlink in a comment: http://www.vanityfair.com/politics/features/2006/12/neocons200612? Who realized their failings at the end, and attempted, flailingly, to repent (alas, to no avail?).
